Resounding 5-0 Win for 1st Team
BMAFC 1st Team comfortably beat a young and capable Onehunga side 5-0 at Seaside Park on Saturday.
This match was originally scheduled for Round 3, but was postponed due to BMAFC's entry into the Chatham Cup in April, and since all other Division 1 football was cancelled this weekend both sides took the opportunity to make it up.

1st Team Earns Lucky Escape
BMAFC closed out a tight game over (Papatoetoe) High School Old Boys 3-2 at Te Puru on Saturday.
Right back James Gibbs opened the scoring early - only 2 minutes into the match - when his free kick, taken from Beachlands' side of half way, found enough space between the HSOB goalie's reach and the crossbar. From there, BMAFC took control of the match and enjoyed the lion's share of possession. Scoring again looked inevitable for the home side. An incisive run from Bryce Henney created space in front of the red zone - a pinpoint pass back to a waiting Tristan Blignault gave BMAFC a commanding 2-0 lead. Perhaps a measure of complacency took hold of the locals after finding little resistance from HSOB in the opening 30 minutes. However the visitors were not without strike power of their own and scored when a well placed shot beat BMAFC's keeper.

Controversial Loss for 1st Team
Sunday, 09 May 2010 01:13
BMAFC 1st Team conceded their first defeat of the season in AFF's Division 1 Championship, losing 2-1 to Papatoetoe AFC at Murdoch Park on Saturday.
A more hungry Papatoetoe side out-played and out-muscled Beachlands, who were without their inspirational skipper Ant Schomaker. Beachlands appeared content to sit back and watch the Papatoetoe players get to the ball first - the lack of confrontation allowed the home side to dominate much of the first half.

1st Team Keeps Another Clean Sheet
Beachlands Maraetai 1st Team played table-toppers Metro FC Wrimac at Te Puru Park on Saturday, with Metro recording three wins from their first three rounds and Beachlands returning to their regular Division 1 competition after a heavy loss in their Chatham Cup qualifier last weekend.
With Beachlands' team management shuffling the starting line-up for this week the game provided opportunities for a number of players who had to date recorded only minimal game time. Brent Couper (striker) and Mark Bignell (left back) both earned their first starts for the season while midfielders Eric Rozeboom and Rex Bignell played their first minutes for the first team, entering the game from off the bench at half time.
