1st Team Win 10 Goal Thriller
What a game for the supporters and heart attack material for the coaching staff! The last home game provided plenty of entertainment for the neutral supporter, BMAFC started with great intent, with Sam Scurrah cracking a vicious half volley from an early corner which gave the Bay Olympic keeper no chance 1-0, not long after Bay Olympic cashed in on a confused defense and a poor clearance to equalize, this finally got Beachlands playing some good football, which saw new signing Mustak Ali grab 4 goals before the break! The last was an exquisite flick of his head after he beat the offside trap with his phenomenal pace.
The 2nd half was a total different performance, the lads failed to follow ½ time instructions which was to sit deeper to allow for the strong winds coming across from Waiheke, Bay Olympic cashed in on the make shift defense as injuries to regular defenders Brian Preston (Hamstring) James Gibbs (Ankle) were out for at least 2 weeks, Bay Olympic pulled 2 more back to make it 5-3 until Ben Taylor who was constantly being chopped at the knees was felled inside the penalty area, the resulting penalty taken by Ant Schomaker somehow hit the upright and bounced back into play, Mustak just missed his 5th not long after which then gave the visitors the belief they could go on and get something form the game, to which they grabbed a 4th, this made for a nervous last 5 mins before Captain Ants slotted home BMAFC 6th Goal of the Game, phew!
