1st Team v Puke: Missed Opportunities
The long trip to Pukekohe seemed to take its toll on the boys, albeit a 50 min drive only. With the Physio running late and 4 lads waiting to be strapped up to play through injuries, it wasn't a pretty start with BMAFC conceding a goal in the first minute after yet another lapse in concentration, Phil Cook running on an un strapped knee and Munith Naidu failing to put foot to the ball led for an easy 1 on 1 for Pukekohe, the disappointment was made clear from the side lines as management vented their frustration, from this the lads started to get into the groove, especially as the Physio arrived Shane Gardner & Phil Cook were taken off respectively to be strapped so they could continue to play with confidence.
Not long after Ant Schomaker cut in form the right and tormented his marker leaving him looking like a corkscrew as he belted a 30yard effort in to equalize, BMAFC continued to pressure for the rest of the half but failed to capitalize on this pressure.
The 2nd half saw the return of James Gibbs at Right back as Shane Dalton joined the injured list, Shane Gardner was replaced by Paul Startin as Shane's ankle wasn't up to the task, the game was pretty evenly balanced with both sides failing to take their opportunities when presented, a 1 all draw was a fair result but management all agreed it was 2 points dropped as the lads should have taken this team. POD Phil Cook
