1st Team hang on for valuable 3 points

The 2nd home game in a row for the 1st Team boys saw them taking on one of best sides in the league University Mt Wellington, the 1st round match saw BMAFC lose 7-3 after going 2 nil up after 10 minutes, the Uni Mt side is all Korean lads who a very fit and incredibly quick, they would probably have the best passing game in the league.

The game started at a frantic pace with Uni Mt having the upper hand in opening 10 minutes, BMAFC were a little slower out of the blocks and didn't really string many passes together till the ¼ hour, Ben Mallinson continues to improve and is forming an excellent partnership with Captain Ants on the left hand side of the park, Ben was found in the attacking 3rd plenty as he overlapped Ants on the outside causing the Uni Mt side plenty of problems, Old Boy Brian's Hamstring Troubles reared its ugly head again as he sought treatment on the sideline, the lads battled away with 10 men while he was having his Right leg strapped again! Not long after he returned the lads regained their shape and momentum as they worked tirelessly to shut down the slick passing game of Uni Mt, they were eventually rewarded after Mustak's pace put them under all sorts of pressure at the back as he nicked in and scored the only goal of the game.

The second half saw BMAFC absorb all sorts of pressure, this was not to say the lads didn't create their own opportunities, just none were taken! It was performance of character & resilience. The final whistle was a welcome relief to the lads and the supporters who were entertained to a thrilling game.
