Coach Education Course

Hi All,
Welcome to the start of the 2011 season! Firstly thank you all for your efforts over the 3 weeks of grading; it has been a fantastic by all and a big thanks to Susan Dower, Tim Alderdice & Nikki Ferigo for doing the registrations.
Last season we ran a small whites coaching course which was paid for by NZ Football, this year we want to take this a step further. We have secured the services of Brian Derby, some of you will already know him, he is a local resident wanting to help his local club, over the last 2 years he has run the Academy @ Papakura FC and is involved with NZ football on coach education.
Brian has the following qualifications, UEFA A license, SFA Advanced license, FA Academy Managers license, FA Youth license and FA Tutor credentials.
Currently one of the highest qualified coaches in NZ.
Brian has held coaching positions with Leeds United, Barnsley FC and Halifax Town FC, with roles including Director of Football, Youth development officer, Centre of Excellence Director, Academy Staff Coach, U9 – U16 and U19 Academy Coach and FA Coach Educator Devon FA, FA monitor for academies / Centre of Excellence.
The course Brian will run will be something that we all can understand, it will be informative not only for 1st Time coaches but for those that have been doing this for some years but have had no formal coaching themselves
I myself will be attending and I have been involved in the game for 35 years and am always looking for ways to improve not only myself but the ability of the kids I am coaching. If we want our children to improve or play to the best of their ability we as Coaches / Parents need to educate ourselves.

It would be great to have you all there, the workshop course is half classroom based and then half practical (outside practicing training exercises)
The cost is $200, which the Club will pay this also includes Brian to do 2-3 Follow up sessions with you and your team at your trainings throughout the season.
I have not put this out for Mini league as we are working on something else for them this year; this course is designed for coaching children 7 years upwards
