BMAFC Girls Excel In Tournament

The BMAFC 8th Grade Dolphins came second out of six teams of 8th grade girls at Fencibles girls only tournament at the weekend. We played against 2 three Kings teams, 2 Fencibles teams and Bucklands Beach. We only conceded 1 goal to Bucklands Beach who won in a round robin style tournament.
There were 61 girls teams in total, from 6th to 12th grade.
I am really proud of the girls who played from various BMAFC teams and at different abilities.
Beachlands 8th Grade Dolphins in Fencibles Girls Only Tournament
They may not play together very often and we may not have a very large pool of girls to choose from but when BMAFC girls get together they are a match for any of the big Auckland teams.
Fencibles had 61 girl only teams playing on Sunday 22nd May ranging from Grade 6 to Grade 12. Conditions were perfect (i.e. it didn't rain) even if the grass was a bit long at Point England grounds in Glen Innes.
Our 8th Grade Dolphins played up against two sides from Three Kings, two from Fencibles and one from Bucklands Beach team. The Dolphins beat both Fencibles sides, drew with the Three Kings first team and beat the Three Kings second team. In fact, in the five games the Dolphins scored seven and only conceded a single goal against the eventual winners, Bucklands Beach, who edged us out 1-0 in a rough contest, however, our girls did BMAFC proud and although tired, battered and sore kept pressing for an equalizer till the final whistle.
3 wins, a draw and a loss was a pretty successful day and overall the Dolphins finished a clear second and after pouring everything they had into the games really deserved the medals they won! Go the BMAFC Dolphins!
