Hi All,

As in previous seasons, we have reached the time when the gates across the driveway in front of the building need to be locked to ensure the safety of the children going to and from sports training, scouts. cubs, etc.

BMAFC to Pay Tribute to Tony Chapman

Wednesday, 13 April 2011 17:46

It was with a profound sadness that the BMAFC committee learned of the tragic death of local family man, Tony Chapman, early on Tuesday morning, April 12, 2011.

Tony, who is survived by his wife Jenny and three children Shannon, Kelsie and Brooke, had been heavily involved in our club at the beginning of the century as a coach and committee member, and volunteered his plumbing skills to fix the guttering at the Beachlands Domain shed. If you did not know Tony personally, you may have seen his purple "Plumb Crazy" van about town.

Tony was a much loved man and will be sorely missed by the community at large.

Beachlands Maraetai AFC will honour Tony's life this Saturday, April 16, with a minute's silence before each match played - home and away - and each of our teams will be encouraged to wear a black arm band as a sign of respect for his passing.

Grounds Allocations

Tuesday, 12 April 2011 21:18

Hi All,

Thank you all for you input regarding fields, below is the email which I sent yesterday to Council, Te Puru and AFF. Please be aware that we are all doing our best for the club and it is not a problem refined to BMAFC, there has been a massive increase in playing numbers throughout Auckland which is causing problems with fields, you will find that some clubs have Goals that are to big and some are to small, some fields are too skinny some are too short, the guidelines are just that: guidelines.

Council are struggling to find enough playing fields along with training areas, hence why some fields are marked 50x30. While not ideal some times you may just have to get on with it, we all have to play on fields sometimes that we think are not suitable, including the 1st Team!
