Streets MiniLeague Update 2011
We have 75 kids registered and we’re splitting these into 12 teams – so nine teams of 6 and three of 7. I’ve tried to do an even distribution of ages and boys and girls as well as fitting in everyone’s requests.
The club is looking at implementing NZ Footballs “First Kicks” programme for our mini league players. This will be an introduction to developing football skills in a fun way. NZ Football are keen to explain the programme to the coaches and we’re looking at having them come down to Te Puru next Monday 28th March at 7pm. Perhaps we could combine this with the coaches meeting – coaches, please RSVP your availability.
We’re looking at starting the season Saturday April 9th. Each team will play each other once – so that’s 11 games. After that we may look at splitting into 2 leagues if some stronger/weaker teams emerge.
Robyn Irvine is this years Mini League Coordinator and Charlie Churton has volunteered to be the scorer. Please contact either me or club president – Brian Preston if there are any issues we can help with.
