11th Grade Stormers v Waiuku Rattlers

First game for the Grade 11 Deckreation Stormers was away to Waiuku Rattlers. With Finn and Luca missing and Liam and Steven returning after a year out it was a good result.
Spirits were high as Rory McCreight led the team out. Despite several darting moves from Kharn, Liam and Mathew in the first half it remained nil nil. The Deckreation Stormers defence combination of Jacob and Jarrod with Rory keeping goal held well on a great sunny day.
Revitalised after a great team talk from Coach, Dennis at half time, the Stormers stepped up with some great runs and battling from Lachlan and Steven. Mathew popped up from a scrum and managed to scramble the ball home for the opening goal. Sadly after a defensive lapse, the Rattlers equalised not long after. The game ended in good spirits at 1 - 1.
The Deckreation Stormers showed battling skills and determination that we havent seen at the opening game before.
Player of the Day was Lachlan for consistent battling and trying the Cryff turn. Coach's award went to Steven for a great return and gutsy defence. Go the Deckreation Stormers.
