11th Grade Stormers v Manukau City

Venue: Beachlands Domain
Deckreation Stormers vs. Manukau City 18th June 2011.

(Why do we always have to play in the mud??. Maybe it's our turn to play at Te Puru.) A full team turned out on half the full size pitch as the kids pitch was more suited to togs, snorkels and flippers. Manukau quickly went 0-1 up due to our defence not concentrating.

Kharn equalised and we all hoped it would be an even game. By half time we were down 1-5 and coach gave the boys a stern speech about pride, effort and hunger to win. Sadly by full time we lost 1-10 and we all decided it was one of our worst games ever. Coach asked the boys to look at themselves and review their keenness to be there, participate and win. The Deckreation Stormers are proven winners and with a little more effort, determination and fitness, let's hope to get back to winning ways. No Player of the Day or Coaches Award was given out.

As Junior Manager (she who wears the trousers being the Boss), I ask you all to help your son get over this loss, try to get him to re-focus and turn up at Wednesday training with renewed enthusiasm. Maybe you could even take him for a jog now and again. We are all busy with work and family life, but, hey.....it's all about the kids this parenting thing. Isn't it?
