11th Grade Stormers v Bucklands Beach

Venue: Beachlands Domain

Deckreation Stormers vs Bucklands Beach. Once again the Beachlands Domain was wet and heavy. A 9 man (boy) squad turned up still harbouring some sniffs and coughs from the week before.

It was good to see at least double that amount of family cheering on the lads despite the weather. The game didn't start well when the Stormers conceded a quick goal. Our boys tried some long range shots but the length of the grass didn't help. Lachlan, Finn and Kharn all had shots on goal.

Eventually Kharn managed to score to draw even with a great individual goal. Bucklands Beach scored again soon after with some neat passing around our defence. Just before the half time whistle our defence cleared a ball back in front of Rory for Bucklands Beach to score an easy third. The second half didn't start much better with another error seeing the ball in Rory's net. Bucklands Beach changed their goalie (who played very well) and despite repeated pressure from Kharn and Liam there was no way through.

Eventually Liam made some great turns, got round his defender and passed to Finn to score the Stormers second goal. By this time our defence were working a bit better and Jarrod, Jakob and Steven managed to stop some certain goals. The Deckreation Stormers were getting the upper hand and the BB keeper did well.

Against the run of play BB scored a final goal leaving the result 2 – 5. Not one of the lads best games. There appeared to be a lack of hunger in their legs.

Player of the Day for some great turns and passing was Liam. Coaches Award for a solid return from injury went to Jarrod.
